The author(s), including first and last names. The use of the maternal surname or its initial is at the author's discretion. Authors are encouraged to maintain a consistent name format across all publications in Index Medicus and other international indexes. Each author's name must be identified with a superscript number. 3. The institution, department, or section affiliated with each author at the time of the study, identified by the corresponding superscript number. If the authors were students or fellows, the training center or university should be named.
Abstract
Use a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, describing the study objectives, materials and methods, main results, and key conclusions. Avoid non-standard abbreviations. Authors are encouraged to provide their own English translation of the abstract along with the translated title. If they cannot, the journal will provide the translation. Editors may modify the abstract for better international dissemination. Authors should suggest 3 to 5 keywords, selected from the Index Medicus list (Medical Subject Headings), available at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/.
Introduction
Clearly identify the research problem, rationale, objectives, and purpose. If applicable, state the hypothesis being tested. Avoid an extensive review of the topic and cite only essential references relevant to the study.
Materials (or Patients) and Methods
Describe the study design, duration, population characteristics, variables (primary and secondary), selection criteria, and methods used, providing enough details for reproducibility. For randomized clinical trials, specify the randomization method and whether allocation was concealed. Statistical methods must be described, and units of measurement must follow the International System of Units (SI).
Results
Quantify findings and present error or uncertainty measures (e.g., confidence intervals). Follow a logical sequence, highlighting key results without repeating table or figure data in the text. Do not mix results with discussion.
Discussion
Focus only on new and important aspects of the study. Do not repeat detailed data from the Results section. Discuss agreements or discrepancies with previous studies, limitations, and conclusions. Avoid unsupported claims and reference only published studies.
Acknowledgments
Acknowledge only individuals or institutions that contributed significantly to the work. Authors are responsible for ensuring that acknowledgment does not imply endorsement of findings or conclusions.
References
References should be limited based on the publication type. Prefer references from indexed journals (Index Medicus). Use Arabic numerals in superscript, following their first appearance in the text.
Tables
Number tables consecutively, ensuring each is cited in the text. Use brief but explanatory titles. Avoid vertical lines. Provide explanatory notes below, defining any non-standard abbreviations.
Figures
Figures include illustrations (graphs, radiographs, etc.). They should be professionally designed or submitted as high-resolution digital files. Captions should explain symbols and scale. Ensure patient confidentiality in clinical images.
