Abstract

This literature review explores the historical milestones, structural orga­nization, and sociocultural impact of the Paralympic Movement, emphasizing the role of the International Paralympic Committee and regional bodies such as the Americas Paralympic Committee in fostering inclusion and sporting ex­cellence, including relevant topics such as Classification in Paralympic sports. Key challenges such as financial sustainability, technological accessibility, and social perceptions are examined alongside opportunities for innovation and community engagement. By tracing the journey from early rehabilitation efforts to a globally recognized sporting event, this review underscores the transformative power of the Paralympic Movement in promoting equality, resilience, and inspiration.
